Who doesn’t like to hear engagement or proposal stories? This is probably the first question we tend to ask when someone discloses that they are engaged. We delve into every detail of their engagement event, like how the question was popped, the place of the proposal, the type of engagement ring slipped and the reaction thereafter. They seem nothing less than a fairy tale narration to us and we only wish our own engagement story is as romantic as theirs. They become a source of inspiration to us, a way to experience the blissfulness of life and to keep our dreams alive. Now that Valentine’s Day is just round the corner, let us help you get into the spirit by narrating how some of our favorite celebrities popped the question to their better half, on Valentine’s Day.

Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney: When on 16th February 2015, her status on Instagram read “He gave me his heart on Valentine’s Day, and I said YES!”, the world went frenzy in excitement.  After dating for over 3 years, Taylor finally popped the question to her lady love on a beautiful, snowy, Valentine’s Day in Manhattan. The happy news was then shared by her to the world along with a picture of her heart-shaped diamond ring. Let us take a peep into the details in her own words; “First, he gave me a Ring Pop. That was kind of amazing and I was crying, I was so excited…..And then he pulled out the heart-shape diamond. First, it was candy. I was happy with the candy.”

Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault: Francois-Henr Pinault, the French business mogul and billionaire and Salma Hayek, the Mexican-American actress started dating in May 2006. In March 2007, the couple announced their engagement and this culminated into marriage on Valentine’s Day 2009. The marriage was a secret, a low-key civil ceremony in Paris and there were just a few family members in attendance. They seem to be a true fan of Valentine’s Day as they named their daughter Valentina.

Adriana Lima and Marko Jaric: Marko Jaric proposed Adriana Lima on the latter’s 27th birthday. Nine months later on 14th February 2009, the Victoria’s Secret supermodel and her basketball player boyfriend eloped and got married in a small civil ceremony in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Ironically, their little daughter has also been named Valentina. The beautiful couple unfortunately announced their separation after 5 years of marriage.

Kyla Weber and Vince Vaughan: As Vaughan puts it in his own words: “Valentine’s Day rolled around and I figured this is not a ship to be missed.” He proposed to Kyla, his girlfriend of a year and a half on 14 February 2009 and a year later in January 2010, married her in Lake Forest Illinois.

Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee: A whirlwind of romance for three days and a Valentine’s Day wedding thereafter, this couple created a frenzy in the media and even though the couple have now separated, their Valentine’s day wedding will forever remain the much talked about. The two married on 1995 Valentine’s day on Cancun beach, Mexico.

Valentine’s Day proposal is indeed a very romantic idea. So if you are thinking of proposing your better half, take advantage of the most romantic day of the year and go down on your knee.
